Dr. Ron Cohen
Even after 23 years of orthodontic practice, my job is still new and exciting for me. Orthodontics is always changing with evolving technologies, and I enjoy being able to provide advanced treatments for my patients. Each person who comes to visit us has their own expectations and goals, and it is our job not to just fulfill, but to surpass them. It is also my responsibility to help them know what is the best treatment for their problem. Anything else is a compromise.
I am originally from Cincinnati, and have lived in Fort Wayne since 1987. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, which includes my wife, April, and our five children, K.C., Courtney, Caitlin, Spencer, and Maxwell. Aside from all of the frogs that are busy hopping around the bushes outside of my house, I also have two dogs, China and Preston. I love to be active by playing baseball and golf, and also by running and lifting weights. I enjoy a good book, as well as, love traveling or spending time outside by the pool!
Education & Continuing Education
My path to becoming an orthodontist began at the University of Kentucky where I received my BA in 1973. I received my DDS from The Ohio State University in 1976. After 5 years as a general proctice dentist, I returned to specialty school at St. Louis University where I attained my Master of Science in Dentistry in 1983.
A lot has changed in my field since 1983, and I have always kept myself on the forefront of new methodology. I currently lecture for SureSmile and Forestadent about the advances in technology-driven orthodontics as it relates to such treatments as Sleep Apnea, TMJ, and advanced orthodontic-surgical procedures. I am also an active Beta test site for SureSmile.
One of my current passions is my involvement with various studies using Cone Beam CT and orthodontics. The Cone Beam CT (CBCT) provides a 3-D image of the entire head; this method of X-ray can help determine whether there are any potential problems with airway constriction, TMJ issues, root and impacted tooth positions, and other abnormalities that can not be seen with the old standary 2 dimensional radiographs. When there are problems with airway constriction, the CBCT helps to locate these allowing me to either designate a specific treatment plan to help fix it or refer to appropriate medical personnel. Early detection is important!

Orthodontic Technician Supervisor
I have been with OMI Orthodontics since 1996, and I am certified in expanded functions. As a clinical technician, I am working on patients all day; the best part of that is getting to know each of them, and seeing the changes in their personalities as their teeth change. In my spare time, I love being outside and I love to read. My family and I really enjoy spending time together at the lake and on the boat.
I have been here at OMI Orthodontics since 2000, and I couldn’t be happier! I love how upbeat the office is, and the way the Drs. make our patients feel so comfortable with their braces on is so great. Our patients are just wonderful; I love being able to see how their smiles change throughout their treatment with us, and it makes me happy to see how excited they are when the braces can finally come off! When I’m not at work, I really enjoy spending time with my family and traveling.
I have been working at OMI Orthodontics since 2002. The atmosphere in our clinic very fun and upbeat! Our patients are great! Everyone that I see has a different orthodontic problem, and I enjoy explaining and talking people through their own individual situations. Plus, seeing them through until the end of their treatment when they have that beautiful smile they came to us for makes it all worthwhile! In my free time, I love traveling and spending time with my family.
I have been a part of the OMI Orthodontic team since 2005. I enjoy being able to talk to all of our patients and seeing how much not only their smiles change, but also their personalities. It’s great to help patients who may be frightened by showing them that they have nothing to fear, and I love seeing how proud of themselves they are when it is finished. When I’m not working, I spend a lot of time with my family attending Carroll High School band competitions and sporting events. My family and I also enjoy spending our weekends boating on Coldwater Lake in Michigan.
I have been a member of the OMI Orthodontics team since 2010. Working here allows me to learn something new every day, and our patients are just wonderful! It’s so rewarding to see how their confidence increases throughout their treatment as their smiles become what they’ve always dreamed they could be. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, especially my son Owen, as well as traveling.
I have been in the dental field since 2011. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and son. I enjoy being outdoors and watching sporting events. I love getting to know our patients and seeing their smiles change. I appreciate being able to be part of their journey!
I have been working at OMI Orthodontics since 2011, and I absolutely love it! The whole atmosphere in the office is happy and upbeat. My favorite part about working here is when your patients open up to you, and they become not only a patient, but a friend to you. Outside of the office, I spend most of my time up at the lake. I enjoy being outside and spending time with my family and friends!
I have been a part of the OMI Orthodontics team since 1999. As one of the Lab Technicians, I enjoy making all of the different appliances for our patients, and I really like the office stays up-to-date on all of the new technology in orthodontics. This helps to make treatment faster and much more comfortable for our patients. It’s great watching what our patients’ amazing new smiles can do for their confidence! I really enjoy reading in my spare time, and my family and I love spending time together, especially when we can cruise around in our dune buggy!
I love meeting new people and enjoys seeing patients grow in confidence with their new enhanced smiles. My husband, Matt and I have four children Caden, Ella, Laila and Roman. In my spare time, I enjoy shopping, reading, and boating.
I have been with OMI Orthodontics since April 2009. As a Financial Coordinator, I am able to help patients and parents with payment arrangements and filing insurance. I work hard to make a comfortable option for everyone! When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, especially at the lake!
I have worked in the dental field since 2012. I’m excited to be part of a great team! It’s so exciting to see the beginning to end results with our patients. When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family and enjoying the lake!
I have worked in the dental field since 2016. During my time away from work I enjoy being with my son and fiancé. We spend a lot of time outside at the lake riding horses or biking. I’m excited to work here because the staff are all so personable and fun to work with, and Drs. Johnson and Cohen are very knowledgeable. I enjoy meeting new patients and seeing them grow in confidence in their new smile.
